Already had PIAA lights that are switched to the high beam - great for daytime use, but nothing extra at night with the low beam. Finally found a cheap source of what appears to be decent quality LED light strips: http://store.ijdmtoy.com/
I bought the ones featured on this page: http://store.ijdmtoy.com/Super-Bright-Audi-Style-LED-Strip-Lights-p/led_audi_style_strip_5b.htm.

Easy to install with the supplied tape, plus a little bit of extra glue at the ends. Wired into the parking light, with the wires exiting the chassis at the joint between the body and the mirror. I'll try to upload a picture also. The Meeting was called to order by Evelyn F at 6:40 p.m. with 25 members present.

2. Steve Beaudry addressed the recent "rumours"about why there is a new BMW Dealer in the area. Beaudry's will still be a BMW Dealer and Steve wanted to let the club know he feels Beaudry has been working very hard to provide excellent customer service and to let us know how much he values our business. Beaudry's has been in business for 15 years and is family owned, he would like us to keep our business in the "family". Beaudry's is offering a new service of picking up and delivering bikes from Spokane for scheduled services. Steve pointed out that Beaudry's has two certified BMW mechanics. Steve opened the floor for questions and was asked if he felt he could continue to "be there" for us as BMW owners in light of the strained relationship between Beaudry and BMW. Steve is bringing a partner and assures us that it will be no problem for him to keep our needs as BMW Motorcycle owners met. Steve pointed out that we can get parts overnighted for an additional fee and that Beaudry would be stocking more parts to have onhand. If you have questions or concerns over service or any other aspect of doing business Steve has asked for your input wehter it be in person, over the phone , or in an email.

3. Evelyn explained the need for new Membership forms to be filled out with your renewals as our very own web mistresses are hard at work compiling a contact info list. So please help us to continue to update our info so we can have an up-to-date contact list.

4. Evelyn reminded us that the Spokane Motorcycle Show is Febuary 12-14. We all had a great time last year so contact Deb and Kim if you would like to represent the club. We will be at both Beaudry's and BMW of Spokane.

5. Next we talked about "local" rallies. We are putting them on the website for a quick glance of what is to come so keep an eye out for that info. If you have any rally info please feel free to email it to Deb and Kim.
Jackie brought to our attention the S1000RR bike give away by BMW-MOA. The are not only giving a bike away but there are 53 different prize packages available for you to win. So get your tickets now! Check out last month and this months issues of ON for more details. Also there will be three Saturday open houses at Beaudry's that you can get a ticket at. The Open Houses will be Saturday 27 Febuary, 27 March, and 24 April. We have been asked to help out and voluteer at these events so if you are available please contact Deb and Kim.

6. Jackie told us about three new Weekend Get Aways that are on tap for this summer. First there is Herman Missouri the first weekend in May. Second is a Napa Valley Get Away the second weekend of May. The last event will be back at Cedar City Utah in Sept. There will only be 100 spots available so be sure to book early!

7. Jackie reminded us of the upcoming National Rally in our very own "backyard". Redmond Oregon! She has asked if we would step up and sign up to help her with door prizes. What a great way to meet new fellow riders from all over the US. You can contact Deb and Kim if you are willing to help. Jackie said slots are about three hours long.

8. Next Kim did an excellent job making sense of our very own website. So now there are NO EXCUSES! We all know how to "contribute" and to check out what is happening. Riding season is just around the corner so lets post our rides and get some good company going with us.

9. Next meeting will be 6:30 p.m. March 4th at BMW of Spokane 4201 S. (for both new and renewing members) Members will be able to select what information is included in the “members only" contact list. This will be printed in hard copy and email to members.

Our first board meeting for the New Year was held before tonight’s club meeting - a "thank-you" to Moon Dollars for a great meeting place. Check them out for coffee and great food in the future. The next board meeting will be held at an officer’s home. These dates and times will be posted on the web site. Board meetings are open to all members; please RSVP to let Shannon know if you want to attend.

The motorcycle show will be held earlier this year, February 12-14th. We are sending around a sign-up sheet for volunteers to work shifts again. This year we will be hopefully at two dealer sites and need everyone’s help. As yet, no one has volunteered to organize this. Shannon will be in touch with someone!!!

Shannon asked for new ideas and suggestions for our meetings. If you have ideas relating to motorcycles, please let Shannon know.
Doug Weir suggested we encourage more riding with other members from the club. Jürgen will be scheduling a twice a month ride and meeting place for coffee throughout this riding season. All of these rides will be posted on our web site. Doug also suggested that someone should be a "ride leader" for one of these, and also to consider some overnight rides with hotel and eating places scheduled. Members can post rides on the web at any time. And don't forget Tuesday rides with John Smith. (These rides are not club sponsorship because of liability issues.)

We would like to have a community service day (a labor day) for a local charity this year. If you have a favorite charity or suggestion, please contact Shannon (email) with contact information. We will choose an organization as a group.

The MOA National Rally is July 14-18th. We will be looking into doing some volunteer work as a club. Shannon will be talking with Jackie to see if she needs help. Making coffee was a suggestion. A club tent for the rally site will be looked at, with club information available.

We would like to have our meetings held at alternative places throughout this next year. Some suggestions are:
March meeting @ Westside Honda
May meeting @ REI (changed to April as REI had a conflict with May)
July a BBQ dinner at Shannon and Deb's - fun, food, fellowship.
Other dinner meetings will be announced later.

The Washington State BMW Club Rally will be held at Menlo, WA, July 23-25th. We will be in contact with their rally chairman about helping out again this year.

Shannon "IS" putting a ride book together. He would love to have your favorite rides submitted by April 2010 for this book. Matthew suggested that you include road surfaces (paved or unpaved), for the non GS riders, and GS riders.

We were set up to have a tutorial of our web page by Kim and Deb this month, but no one at Beaudry’s had the internet password. So we will look forward to this next month.

Doug Weir has rally dates for this year, Red Rock, Ironman, and Bear tooth.

Shannon has discount coupons from Cycle Gear, these expire this month, contact him if you would like one.
